This is a list of over 200 companies…and I know of even more than this. I also have an old friend who is a felon and he is gainfully employed making decent money now.
There are also recruiters on Linkedin who specialize JUST in getting felons hired. Then there’s program I know who are literally set up to help hire felons. (specific to my city but if anyone is in St. Louis – www.cjmstlouis.org )
The problem is not that jobs are not available for you. The problem is that people self-isolate and self-disqualify from every job out there simply because “I’m a felon, I’m unhireable!”
They aren’t. Far f**king from it. All you need to do is apply your butt off, do searches, find groups, and connect with recruiters. Felonies don’t matter as much as they once did, but the perception that a felony is life-ending is still too prevalent.
The only thing you need to remember is that your felony matters for the type of job you do. If you robbed a bank – you cannot work in a job around money. You can do literally anything else, including sales and marketing!
Categories are not out of reach – the job specifics are what matters! If you have a sales job that involves money, you will not be hired for that. But inbound sales on the phone that involves you just signing someone up for something? No problem!
